Ben-O-Therm Wood Fiber Insulation

Product Description

Benolec Wall Insulation System . This is a cellulose-fibre thermal insulation tradename "Ben-O-Mat", which is made from clean paper treated with borax, boric acid and aluminum sulphate chemicals.
BEN-O-THERM is derived from recycled wood fibre. Because of its natural content, it is a non-polluting, and non-irritant material. Tests have proven this product free of any gas emission whatsoever.

THERMAL PERFORMANCE
With an R value of 3.8/in. at a density of 1.6 lb/cu. ft. on open areas, BEN-O-THERM provides the highest thermal resistance per unit of thickness of all conventional insulating fibres on the market today.

FIRE RESISTANCE
Over the years, BEN-O-THERM has been used extensively in many large construction projects not only as an insulation and acoustical material, but also as an excellent fire resistant agent. BEN-O-THERM meets the CAN/ULC-S703 standards and has demonstrated in laboratory tests its exceptional flame resisting properties and has also proven to be a non irritant product.

Other properties
As a result of the boron compounds included in its formulation, BEN-O-THERM helps to prevent parasitical and vermin intrusion. It has therefore gained considerable success in its applications in farm buildings.

BEN-O-THERM is pH controlled and is ideally suited for insulating steel-structure buildings where use of corrosive materials must be avoided.

Versatility
Made of small particle-sized fibres to be spray-applied, BEN-O-THERM fills every nook and cranny, forming a uniform, thick coating without any gaps. In walls where it is injected at the recommended 3 lb/cu. ft. density according to the BEN-O-MAT system, it does not settle or sag over the years and improves the structure's air tightness by reducing air leakage.

Lower costs
Beno-Therm is manufactured as per a careful application of the latest technologies; it provides an economical alternative to other insulation material. Luxury and comfort at economical price in your own interior: warm in the winter, cool in the summer and soundproof.

ACOUSTICAL PROPERTIES
BEN-O-THERM contains soundproofing properties and proven superior performance. BEN-O-THERM is injected at 3.0 lb. density per cubic foot in party walls and at 2.5 lb. density into existing ceilings/floors constructions directly through 2 in. holes pierced into the gypsum boards or, in the case of unfinished walls, through a BEN-O-MAT membrane mesh stapled to the wall frame before installing the closing wall panel.

Test and results
Based on testing done in laboratory and field conditions for various types of walls and floors constructions, BEN-O-THERM has consistently performed over the years better than other known fibers. Not only has it shown superior sound abatement properties, but also filled cavities more effectively and proved safer for applicators.
These test results are available upon request.

  Reinforced Membrane Product

The reinforced polyethylene is a 3 layer composite consisting of two outer layers of polyethylene separated by a middle layer of polypropylene string fiber. The poly product is an effective vapor barrier if the openings (slits) and penetrations made in it for pneumatic installation (blown in) are sealed. If left unsealed it is no longer a vapor barrier but rather it is simply a very strong membrane retaining wall for dry blown in cellulose fiber insulation. The poly must be "lip" stitched (stapled tightly" to avoid pillowing).

Follow the instructions to assure that it is "Drum Skin Tight".
